The Hodgepodge Populations of the Twin Cities

17 04 2008

Found this list of some of the diverse populations of people living in the Twin Cities:

  • The largest Somali population in the U.S.
  • The largest Hmong concentration of any U.S. city.
  • The second largest Tibeten Buddhist population in the U.S.
  • One of the largest concentrations of Ethiopians of any U.S. city.
  • One of the largest Liberian concentrations of any city in the U.S.
  • The neighborhood with the largest Native American urban population.
  • The largest population of Korean adoptees of any U.S. city.
  • The fifth largest homosexual population of any U.S. city.
  • One of the largest concentrations of witches in the U.S.
  • The largest Lutheran church in North America.
  • One of the largest concentrations of “megachurches” of any U.S. city.

This list is from the CityScope Report, which looks like a great resource for church planters in the Twin Cities.  Also take a look at the Twin Cities City Vision report.

It is clear that the Twin Cities is a hodgepodge of people from all walks of life.  Witches, Lutherans and megachurch attendees all living by one another.  Crazy.
